GSE has introduced a modular version of its Colorsat Solo single ingredient ink dispenser, for packaging and label printing applications. The redesigned Solo accommodates a variety of container sizes, and features standardised parts, simplifying later adaptations and training.
Built for accurate, fast and clean dispensing of inks that do not require blending, such as process colours, transparent whites or special coatings, the system draws from storage drums or IBC tanks, and dispenses ink into smaller containers. Dispensing is manually activated by using a ball valve or, optionally, a foot pedal that opens a pneumatic valve only when pressed, thus minimising the risk of spillage.
The redesigned modular frame offers new levels of flexibility, accommodating a wide range of dispense container sizes from five litres upwards.
An air operated diaphragm pump circulates ink inside the drum through press and return pipes and flexible hoses, preventing pigment settling and ensuring inks are dispensed at a consistent strength. Circulation is activated manually or, optionally, automatically according to a preset time schedule. Because it requires only a pressurised air connection, the system can be installed conveniently close to the press, reducing excessive motion.
The Colorsat Solo can be optionally integrated with GSE Ink manager software, when linked to a weighing scale and computer system. This enables automatic ink data entry, full traceability, real time stock visibility and improved cost control, removing manual record keeping and supporting more informed, data led ink management.
